Principal's Message

Welcome to  Daves Avenue Elementary School!

We take great pride in providing a caring and challenging atmosphere where all students have an opportunity to succeed. We emphasize a collaborative environment between teachers, parents, administrators and community members to ensure the best educational experiences are available to every child.

Our program relates directly to the LGUSD Strategic Plan.  Students have multiple opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding, as well as their unique interests and talents.  In addition to core academic instruction in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, our students benefit from a comprehensive program in Character Education, Music, Art, and Physical Education.  Technology is integrated into daily instruction in both lab and classroom settings.  In fifth grade, our students participate in a 1:1 laptop program throughout the day.  Students are able to explore their specific interests in sports, arts, math, and drama in the after-school programs offered on site through the Los Gatos Recreation Department. 

The philosophy of the entire staff is one of partnership. We value our community resources, as well as our parent support both at home and in the classroom.  Parents are encouraged to volunteer on the playground and in the library to support learning for all students.  Parents with special interests in the Arts, Music, Literacy or Math are also encouraged to volunteer as Clay Parents, Music Supporters, Literacy or Math tutors.  Additionally, parents are encouraged to become Asset Building Champion Readers to help maintain a caring school climate for all children.
