Hi and welcome to room 5's kindergarten web page. This is my first attempt at a web page so please bear with me as I learn.

Kindergarten starts at 8:15 please have your child here before then. If you and your child arrive after 8:15 please take your child with you to the office and get a late slip. It is better for your child and less disruptive to the class if you arrive before 8:15 since there is about 5 minutes worth of morning routines your child needs to do when he/she comes in. It will also give your child a chance to settle in before his/her school day begins.

Pick up is 11:25 and 12:05 on Weds. and minimum days

Comfort Kits

Please be sure to send in a Comfort Kit with your child or purchase one at: Comfort Kits
If you are putting one together, be sure to include the following in a large ziplock bag with your child's name on it: a bottle of water, a few non-perishable snacks, a small toy or game, and a reassuring note, PLEASE TURN IN OR ORDER ASAP!

Stone Soup is a Grimm's Brothers tale about cooperation.There are many different versions of Stone Soup, in class will we read Marcia Brown's STONE SOUP (Simon & Schuster Children's). It tells the story of three hungry soldiers who come into a village and cleverly trick the town's people into sharing their food--by making a hearty soup out of nothing but stones. We will also read another Stone Soup tale by Ann McGovern, in which a clever young boy tricks an old woman into believing that soup can be made from a stone. As the pot of water boils with the stone in it, he urges her to add more and more ingredients. She is amazed and declares, " Soup from a stone, now fancy that! "

Birthdays in Kindergarten...

We enjoy celebrating birthdays in kindergarten. When your child has a birthday please come in and share pictures of your child at birth 1,2,3, etc. and you may donate a book to the class in honor of your child. We'll share the birthday book with the class. All family members are welcome to participate..
