Book Orders
Our last book order for the year have been placed and the order has been shipped out. I expect the order to arrive some time this week. I will distribute the books as soon as they arrive.
Star Testing
You children worked hard throughout the two weeks of STAR testing. Thank you for getting your children to school on time. Your child's results will be mailed to you this summer.Thank you parents, for bringing in snacks. The kids really looked forward to the little treats each day.
District Art Show Field Trip
We will be walking to the District Art show this year with our Big Friends this Wednesday at 8:20 a.m.. The show will be at Fisher Middle School. Please have your child bring: a bottle of water labeled with her/his name on it, wear comfortable walking shoes, and apply sunscreen. We will be back in time for snack recess.
Guadalupe River Park Study Trip
Our last field trip of the year will be to Guadalupe River Park in San Jose on May 24. Parent drivers are: Dennis O'Neill, Dana Haines, Dan Snyder, Julie Conlsik, and Jennifer Blomquist. Please arrive promptly at 8:15 a.m. We will take roll and go.
Life Cycles Play
The children have been practicing so hard for our play. Look for an invitation to attend the show going home today. If you cannot attend the final performance on June 1st at 1:45, please come to the dress rehearsal on May 24 at 1:00 in the Multi-Use Room.
Pizza Party
Your children have earned a pizza party for good listening! We will have out party this Friday at lunch. Please send in $2.00 with your child if you would like your child to participate. I will provide drinks.

Curriculum Highlights:
Reading - We will be completing our exploration of important ideas in non-fiction and fiction texts.
Word Work -New sorts introduced this week. A homework sheet will go home on Monday
Handwriting - Where do we start our letters and numbers? At the top!
Writing- Our focus will be on assessments: letter writing and personal narrative.
Math -Unit 8 - Partners, Teams, and Paper Clips. Students will work on: whole number operations through adding even and odd numbers and making sense of developing strategies to solve addition and subtraction with totals to 100 as well as using manipulatives, drawings, tools, and notation to show strategies and solutions, and computational fluency by practicing and knowing their addition combinations to 10 + 10,
Social Studies - Important People in History - Heroes
Science: We will continue our final science unit: Life Cycles!
